Exactly what I needed: peace and quiet in nature with my pup. I loved sitting at the large window with hot cider, watching the rain in the morning, and cooking s’mores by the fire at night.

My husband and I were on edge with each other, then something special happened on our getaway. We talked more in those two days than we had in months. I truly think this time together saved our marriage. I feel different — much more peaceful than I’ve felt in a very long time. My soul is happy!

I felt so valued as an artist through the whole process. I love that Postcard Cabins encourages creativity alongside rest in nature. After stepping away from my routine and carving out time, I was able to return to my work in a healthier and more intentional way.

My getaway was lovely for a solo trip. One night of solitude was amazing and I felt great and ready to go.

During the drive, our family told knock-knock jokes, talked about school and work, and shared hopes and dreams. Our cabin greeted us with a pleasant smell of wood and fresh bedsheets. Right before falling asleep, our two-year-old son said, “this is the best ever.” And it was. It was the best ever.

As a Black trans man in an interracial relationship, camping might not always feel like the safest or most accessible option. Postcard Cabins is making it clear, by giving me this gift, that they are an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and that they take the safety of our community seriously.
